Update - PEER COMMUNITY IN WORKSHOP 


This year Peer Community In organisation propose you a workshop about thier work and why you should use their services in a research publication procedure.

 

The “Peer Community in” (PCI) is a non-profit scientific organization that aims to create specific communities of researchers reviewing and recommending, for free, unpublished preprints in their field (i.e. unpublished articles deposited on open online archives like arXiv.org and bioRxiv.org). To a lesser extent, they may also recommend postprints (i.e. articles already published in journals).

 

Free entrance in the galleries

During the congress, you can freely access all the galleries and the zoo (Ménagerie) of the Jardin des Plantes. At the entrance, just show your badge of the congress.

Tickets to visit the Musée de l’Homme (Mankind Museum - http://www.museedelhomme.fr/en) for free will be available at the registration desk.

Please note that all the galleries, the zoo (Ménagerie) and the Musée de l’Homme are closed on Tuesdays.

 

Guided excursions

We have the great chance to welcome you at the National Museum of Natural History, amongst a very large number of impressive collections, we organised several guided visits of galleries and platforms for you on Friday,15th of March in the afternoon

 

EXCURSIONS
The number of places per visit is limited, and some visits take place at the same time, be careful with the indicated schedules, there are some incompatibilities of some visits. Please read carefully the description of the visits (schedules, language, etc., document on the YNHM 2019 website) before making your choice. Some visits will only be in French.

 

Be aware that all the persons that will guide you are doing it for free just for you! So please don't forget the visit you’re enrolled in, be on time and of course thank your awesome guide!

 

  • Visit of the Herbarium 

(1:00 – French & English - at 2:00 p.m or 3:30 p.m)

Visit of galleries closed to the public that have just been renovated. The guide will present the scientific and historical interest of such collections.

 

  • Visit of the collections of Entomology: terrestrial arthropods 

(1:30 – French & English- at 2:00 p.m or 3:30 p.m)

Visit of different types of collections with various techniques of conservation for the preparation of the specimens. The guide will talk about the interest of those collections for modern research in entomology with the presentation of several tools and methods.

 

  • Visit of the collections of Comparative Anatomy: osteology and fluids 

(1:00 – French- at 2:00 p.m or 3:30 p.m)

History, contents and uses of the collections of comparative anatomy.

 

 

  • Visit of the taxidermy laboratory

(1:30 – French- at 2:00 p.m or 3:30 p.m)

Visit of the taxidermy laboratory, with the possibility of handling some specimens. Visit with questions and answers.

If you want to enroll for one or more excursions and a workshop you could ask at the registration desk. Online enrolling is now over.
